Optimizing Energy
Renewable Energy
In Mauritius, where energy resources are limited and environmental pressures are increasing, optimizing our energy consumption is both a responsibility and an opportunity. Through investment in renewable energy, smarter logistics, and more efficient technologies across our facilities and fleet, we are reducing our carbon footprint and building resilience for the future.
– Solar PV project
Since June 2025, we have been harnessing the power of renewable energy with the installation of solar panels across our facilities.
These panels provide a total installed capacity of 1.89 MW, enabling us to generate nearly 30% of our electricity needs from clean, solar energy.
This transition not only reduces our reliance on conventional power sources but also represents a meaningful step toward lowering our environmental footprint.
By investing in solar energy, we are building a more sustainable future while supporting efficient and responsible operations.
– Energy Efficiency
One of our major achievements has been the transition to LED lighting, with 98% of the lighting across our outlets and facilities now upgraded to LED technology. Compared to conventional lighting, LEDs consume significantly less electricity, have a longer lifespan, and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with energy use.
To further minimise unnecessary energy consumption, motion-sensor lighting has been installed in our restrooms, ensuring that lights are only used when the spaces are occupied.
Beyond technology, we also embrace nature-based solutions. Ashoka trees have been planted along the perimeter of our warehouses to provide natural shades and help reduce heat around our buildings.
This contributes to a cooler surrounding environment while enhancing the site’s greenery and biodiversity.
